The congregation of Pápa has built four churches: the first which was taken away at the time of the expulsion, the second one in the village to which the congregation had fled, the third, after the Edict of Tolerance, in the Age of ' 1 ■.■Enlightenment, and the 'fourth, 10 years ago. The Theological Academy of Pápa has, at present, 50 students. 18 in the Eirst Year, - 5 of them women - 12 in the Second, 8 in the Third, 7 in the Fourth and 5 in the Fifth Year. The students live in a dormitory which was estab­lished after the war. It has two buildings. One of them was bought; this has twelve rooms and a flat for the Inspector Professor, The second building is taken on lease; this has eight rooms. The Academy has set up this year a Training Course for Deacons and Choirmasters. The course lasts two months, in winter time; it gives training in singing, harmo­nium playing and general church work, 14 students have re­cently passed an examination, 11 men and 3 women. 2 students will be examined in the autumn. Some of the theological stu­dents are receiving special training for work among the scattered brethren, the "diaspora". This is an enthusiastic group of young men who "know ’Thom they have believed". 3. The third is the Theological Academy of the Cistibiscan Synod in Sárospatak. This Synod is the homeland of the first complete Protestant translation of the Bible, This- was the work of the first Bishop in this Synod, Caspar Kárüli. Eis translation was published in 1590. One can still feel the spirit of a deep and fresh Biblical tradition in the churches of this Synod and also in the Sárospatak College, The Theological Academy has, at present 97 students 40 in the First Year, - 8 of them women. 26 in the Second, 15 in the Third, 12 in the Fourth and 4 in the Fifth Year. In the last school-year 7 students graduated. Most of the students, including those who have their homes in Sárospa­tak, live in the dormitory. The woman students live in the Girlsf Dormitory of Sárospatak Collég. . The students are en­gaged in four types of church work: Sunday School work in the dormitories of elementary schools and in the congregation, youth work among ole .r secondary school students and in the cjngregation of Sárospatak, in evangelization and in the so- , called "farm mission" which is organized around 7 farm cen­ters, The students belonged "until recently into two groups: some of them wore members of the Christian Endeavour Union and the others bcl nged to the Confessing Fellowship of Sáros­patak Students. Now the two groups have merged. 4. The fourth is the Theological Academy of the Danubian Synod in Budapest, This Synod is located in the central part of the country, on both banks of the Danube river Its center is Budapest. In last September, 118 students were enrolled in the Academy. One of them die.’, 5 left the school and *2 are now studying abroad.There are 35 students in the Hungarian Church Press
