The Vice Chairman of the Committee, Rev* Julius Groo, General Secretary of the Lutheran Church gave a report on the Committee's activity during the second half of 19 . It was learned with great satisfaction that the brotherly ties among the constituent church bodies, the Reformed, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist and Greek Orthodox Churches, are being strengthened. This growing solidarity finds its expression in common gatherings. These churches will try to make these ties even stronger* The Study Department of the Committee w:. II cooperate with the Hungarian Bible Society to arrange a Bible Week and intends to make provisions for the systematic study oi the programme which was elaborated by the Study Department of the World Council of Churches. Among the problems set forth in this Study Programme, that concerning evangelism seems to be the most interesting. The experiences of the revival movement in Hungary will provide many useful lessons for the whole world of Christendom and thus give us opportunity fo repay, to some extent, that material and spiritual help which we have received from our Christian brethren abroad The Committee discussed the plan of its cooperation with the Reformed Fellowship of Home Missionary work in establishing a library with the chief aim of giving aid towards laying the theological foundations of evangelistic work. The General Secretax-y of the Reconstruction Department, Dr. Ladr’.ülas Makkai, reported that the Hungarian Churches had been receiving continued ecumenical help during the past half year. The total of 291,012*66 Florins, in cash and kind, was received for church purposes, for supporting institutions and congregations, for study purposes and for personal aid.Accord ing
