Prof. George de Békéssy received the 1961 Nobel Prize in medicine for his research — accomplished before his leaving Hungary in 1946 — on the func* tion of the human ear. In Stockholm, Pál Benkő qualified as one of the six chess grandmasters for the final world champi* onship candidates' tournament to be held in Cura* fao this May and June. Ildikó Németh writes about the activities of Hun* garians in different sections of the European film world. One of the greatest Hungarian writers, László Németh, is becoming well*known also in the West by the publication of his works simultaneously in the following languages: German, French, English, Italian, Spanish, Danish*Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish. The publication of one of his novels in Germany in i960 by the Steingrüben Publishing House was a prime mover in his succes. RÉSUMÉ Dans un interview, M. Le professeur Georges de Békéssy a re?u le Prix Nobel de médicine pour ses recherches sur la fonc* tion de l'oreille. M. Békéssy a accompli ces recher* ches en Hongrie avant qu'il l'a quitté en 1946. M. Paul Benkő était un des six finalistes qui ont gagné le droit á Stockholm de participer au tour* nament des candidats de championnat de monde d'échec ä Curasao en mai et juin 1962. Ildikó Németh écrit sur les activités des Hongrois dans le domaine du cinéma en Europe. Un des plus grands écrivains hongrois vivants, László Németh, vient de se faire connaítre aussi á l'Ouest par ses oeuvres publiées simultanément dans les langues suivantes: allemand, franfais, anglais, italien, suédois, espagnol, danois et finnois.
