HEGEDOS J.: A budapesti Duna toxikológiája 293 Abstract: Keywords: HEGEDŰS JÁNOS Toxicity of Danube water along Budapest Hegedűs, J. Samples of Danube water were taken from the points at River Stations 1656 and 1631 km over the past ten years (1979—1988) and tested for acute toxicity, using indicator organisms of different ecological type and sensitivity, viz., Daphnia magna and Scenedesmus obtusiusculus. The results were classified into five categories: non-, mildy-, moderately-, highly- and very highly toxic. From the results it is concluded that the Danube water upstream of Budapest contains but slight amounts of toxic substance and that the results are objectionable in a few instances only. —therefold. This is reflected also by the occurrence frequency of the higher toxicity classes. At the upstream sampling point the water quality was mildly toxic except for a single instance, but at the point downstream of Budapest the samples showed repeatedly moderate and high, on one occasion very high toxicity. Tudományos munkatársként dolgozott a Gyógyszerkutató Intézetben, adjunktusként az Egészségügyi Főiskolán. Jelenleg a Fővárosi Vízmüveknél laboratórium vezetőként hidrobiológiával foglalkozik. Szűkebb munkaterülete a Duna mérgezőanyag tartalmának vizsgálata akut és krónikus toxikológiai teszttel ós a Duna-víz genotoxikus hatású anyagainak kimutatása. Közreműködött —— ós működik — az ,,Ivóvíz-minősítés mikroszkopikus biológiai vizsgálat alapján" szabvány, és a „Víztoxikológiai vizsgálati szabványok" elkészítésében. A hidrobiológia témaköréből eddig hat előadást tartott és negyvenhárom publikációja — Kísérletes Orvostudomány, Acta Biologica, Élelmiszervizsgálati Közlemények, Egészségtudomány, Budapesti Közegészségügy és Hidrológiai Közlöny — jelent meg.
