ÁDÁM WÜRTZ He was bora in 1927 in Tamási. He comple­ted his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1948-53. He has been many times on ins­tructional trips in different countries. At the beginning of his artistic career two one-mam exhibitions of his were opened in 1958 in the Institute of Cultural Relations, in 1963 in Dürer Hall. His works were exhibited in 1965 in. Vienna, in 1966 at the International Graphic Biennale of Lugano. He has won se­veral prizes, for example: Vienna, VIT prize; Lugano, personal prize. He is triple Mun­kácsy Prize winner. (1957, 1966, 1969) His technique is outstandingly brilliant. On his copperplates the patterns of Hungarian fol­klore are often used, he likes to combine surrealistic elements into realistic compositi­ons. As an illustrator he has a great part in the development of modern Hungarian book art.
