Tours in Northern and Eastern Hungary Starting from Eger

Saturday: arrival in Eger, individually or in groups from Budapest by bus. The suggested route: Gyöngyös (77km)-Mátraháza-Kékes (22km), (the highest point of Hungary)-Parád (the Fine Stable)-Sirok-Eger (43km)

ROUTE I. An all-day excursion

Egér-Szilvásvárad (35km) a visit to the Hungarian Lippizan stud-farm,- Aggtelek-Jósvafő: (68km) the biggest dripstone cave in Central Europe, where a 1 1/2 hour tour will take place -lunch in Aggtelek or Jósvafő- Miskolc-Tapolca (70km) bathing in the cave bath-dinner in Eger (63km).

ROUTE II. An all-day excursion

Eger-Debrecen (Rome of the Calvinists) sightseeing by bus (Protestant Church, College, University, the Town Park) (140km)-lunch in a Csarda in the Puszta (40km). Excursion to the Puszta in horse drawn carriages, presenting of the animals in the Puszta: the Hungarian grey herd, sheep flock, Mangalitza herd, buffalo herd. Air safari over the Puszta (an optional possibility). Dinner in Eger (100km).

ROUTE III. An all-day excursion

Eger-Miskolc (60km) - coffee break - a visit to the Sárospatak: Rákóczi Castle and the late gothic church, to the library of the Protestant College (87 km) Lunch in a wine-cellar in Tokaj (30 km). Back to Eger (113 km)

Special additional programmes in North and East Hungary starting from Eger (in case of 20 participants).- Library tour: In course of an all-day excursion a visit to the famous libraries of the reigon, combined with other cultural programmes.- Presentation of the masterpieces of folk and ecclesiastical architecture by an expert.- With a camera through our region with an authorazition to shoot, with possibility of suitable light and the guiding of an expert.
