iron gates by Fazola, in the court-yard, in the building of the former county prison there is a town historical exhibition. The beautiful Lyceum in late baroque style with a lovely inner court-yard in Louis XVI style is at the corner where the Széchényi and Kossuth Streets meet. In this building there is a very interesting old library and also an observatory museum, the so-called „Specula”. All these will be unforgetable memories of those who walk through the streets of Eger. We have only one monument in neoclassic style, The Basilica, the second largest church in our country. Standing opposite the Basilica to the right you will see the Archiepiscopal Palace, which has been the residence of the bishops since 1740 and that of the archbishops since 1804. In the northern wing of the palace we can find the Archdeocesan Treasury, which is really worth visiting. These sights will be presented in the programme „Sightseeing for Beginners”. The sights to be seen with the programme „Sightseeing for Advanced” are the following:-The Orthodox Church, „Rác templom” and the parish house, the special atmosphere of the church, the „Kepes Collection” in the Vitkovics- House that shows us the relationship of the life, the sentiments of a painter, a photograph-designer, a polyhistor to the world and to the light.-We shall walk in that fascinating, impressing cellar system of 3000 m2, which is unique in Central Europe. In following this will be mentioned in detail. jsw\ Ä 11
