The beautiful Lyceum in late baroque style with a lovely inner court-yard in Louis XVI style is at the corner where the Széchényi and Kossuth Streets meet. In this building there is a very interesting old library and also an observatory museum, the so-called „Specula”. All these will be unforgetable memories of those who walk through the streets of Eger. We have only one monument in neoclassic style, The Basilica, the second largest church in our country. Standing opposite the Basilica to the right you will see the Archiepiscopal Palace, which has been the residence of the bishops since 1740 and that of the archbishops since 1804. In the northern wing of the palace we can find the Archdeocesan Treasury, which is really worth visiting. These sights will be presented in the programme „Sightseeing for Beginners”.
