A barokk zene interpretációjára irányuló kutatás megújításának szükséglete motiválja és vezeti az 7 Virtuosi déllé Muse-t. A zenekart nem korlátozzák a folyamatos és pontos filológiai kutatások, sokkal inkább a stílus és az érzékenység ad életet az új és eredeti előadásmódnak. A tendencia, hogy a barokk zene megszólaltatásának csak egyetlen és megkérdőjelezhetetlen módja van, a barokk játékot statikussá és élettelenné teszi.

A tény, miszerint a barokk partitúrák nagy teret engednek a szabadságnak (mind hangszerelés mind játékmód tekintetében) arra késztette az I Virtuosi déllé Muse-t, hogy a zenekari szövet hangzásbeli lehetőségeit élőbbé és gazdagabbá tegye.

A zenekart a művészeti vezető Stefano Molardi és az első hegedűs Jonathan Guyonnet alapította. A munka tisztán zenei része kettejük művészi ötleteiből profitál. A kotta gondos és precíz tanulmányozása a színek, artikuláció és dinamika változatosságához vezet, amit az első hegedűs közvetít a zenekar tagjai felé; ez elősegíti Molardi munkáját, aki közvetlenül a billentyűs hangszer (csembaló vagy orgona) mellől irányít.

I Virtuosi déllé Muse 2005 óta kizárólagosan a Divox-szal készít felvételt.

Stefano Molardi 1970-ben született Cremonában, orgona és csembaló szakon végzett. Ezen felül (kitűnő minősítéssel) diplomát szerzett zenetudományi szakon a cremonai egyetemen. Szakdolgozatát Olivier Messiaen’s La Nativité du Seigneur címmel írta. Tanulmányait Koopman, Stembridge, Vogel és Tagliavini vezetésével folytatta. 1996 és 1999 között részt vett Radulescu mester kurzusain a bécsi zeneakadémián, majd a mesterrel a svájci Academie Bach continuósaként játszott együtt. Első díjat nyert a Pasian di Prato Nemzetközi Orgonaversenyen, és a Consomo Nazionale Cittá di Viterbón. Szintén díjnyertes lett további országos és nemzetközi megmérettetéseken, többek között Brugge-ben (Belgium) és a tekintélyes Paul Hofmaier versenyen Innsbruckban. Ezután további tanulmányokat folytatott Andrea Marconnál a kamarazene és vezénylés területén. Molardi szólistaként és continuo játékosként egyaránt aktív előadó, és jelen van a jelentős zenei fesztiválokon Olaszországban (Musica e Poesia in S. Maurizio, Teatro La Fenice Venice) és más európai országokban (Amsterdam Conzertgebow, Utrecht, Rotterdam, London London Barbican Centre), csakúgy mint az USÁ-ban (Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall, Boston Jordan Hall, New York Camagie Hall), és Barzíliában- (Sala Sao Paulo). Stefano Molardi koncertprogramjával számos olasz és nemzetközi fesztiválon feltűnik (International Festival of Payeme - Switzerland; Wiener Orgelkonzerte - Austria; Europäische Orgelmusik Nürnberg, "C. Monteverdi" Cremona Festival, Treviso Festival, Musica e Poesia in S, Maurizio, Milan, International Festival of Maastricht ...). 2003 óta vezeti az I Virtuosi delle Muse kamarazenekart, a vokális és instrumentális zene előadásának és újrafelfedezésének szentelve magát. Különös figyelmet fordít a XVII-XVIII. századi Olaszország zenéjére, mely után saját maga kutatott és ezzel a repertoárral fontos régi zenei fesztiválokon turnézott. Felvételeket készített a Christoforus-szal, Tactus-szal, Divox-szal és a Deutsche Gramofonnal. Legutóbbi felvételéhez Molardi számos pozitív kritikát nyert el (Amadeus, Early music) és minősítést (5 „diapason” a Frech joumal-tól).

The need to "renew" the interpretive research in baroque music is what motivates and guides 7 Virtuosi delle Muse. Constant and accurate philological inquiry does not limit; rather, the style and the sensitivity of this instrumental ensemble gives hfe to new and

original interpretations. The tendency to impose a single and indisputable inteipretation of baroque repertoire has often limited and labeled it as being static or tedious.

The certainty that baroque language is characterized by a score that offers large margins of freedom (both in terms of instrumentation and interpretation) led I Virtuosi delle Muse to make the timbric possibilities of the orchestral organic livelier and richer (see sections on the use of the Viola d'amore and the Viola tenore).

The organizational structure of i Virtuosi delle Muse is modeled on the organization of a "business"; the founders are Stefano Molardi and Jonathan Guyonnet. The organizational work is conducted by people internal and external to the ensemble (administrative duties, layout of the liner notes on a CD, realization of the orchestral parts, national and international contacts).

The purely musical aspect of the work benefits from the shared artistic ideas between the director Stefano Molardi and first violin Jonathan Guyonnet. The careful and rigorous study of the score leads to the choice of "colors", articulations, and dynamics that the first violinist communicates to each of the orchestra's musicians; this facilitates the work of the conductor, who leads directly from the keyboard instrument (harpsichord or organ).

I Virtuosi delle Muse have recorded exclusively for the label Divox since 2005.

Stefano Molardi bom in Cremona 1970 graduated in organ, organ and harpsichord. In addition he took a degree (with maximum marks) in musicology at Cremona University submitting a thesis on Olivier Messiaen's La Nativité du Seigneur.He pursued his studies with Kooiman, Stembridge, Vogel and Tagliavini, supplementing this by taking master classes with M. Radulescu at the Hochschule für Musik of Vienna in Vienna between 1996 and 1999.He collaborated with Radulescu on the basso continu) at the Académie Bach in Porrentruy (Switzerland).

He was awarded first prize at the International Organ Competition of Pasian di Prato (Udine), and at the Concorso Nazionale Cittá di Viterbo. He was also a prize-winner at several other national and international competitions, incuding Brugge (Belgium) and the prestigious Paul Hofhaimer of Innsbruck.He then completed his training in the field of ensemble music and conducting with Andrea Marcon.

Both as soloist and continuo player, Molardi is an active performer and has concretized at major music festivals in Italy (Musica e Poesia in S. Maurizio, Teatro La Fenice, Venice) and other European countries (Amsterdam, Conzertgebow, Utrecht, Rotterdam, London Barbican Centre), as well as in the U.S.A. (Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall, Boston Jordan Hall, New York Camagie Hall), Brasil (Sala Sao Paulo). He collaborates with internationally reputed artists such as Andrea Marcon, Giuliano Carmignola and Stefano Montanari. Molardi teaches organ and Gregorian chant at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Como and conducts the organ classes of the Society of Marc'Antonio Ingegneri in Cremona. Stefano Molardi has a full concert schedule, appearing at numerous national and international festivals, both in Italy and in other European countries, International Festival of Payeme (Switzerland); Wiener Orgelkonzerte (Austria); Europäische Orgelmusik Nürnberg, "C. Monteverdi" Cremona Festival, Treviso Festival, Musica e Poesia in S, Maurizio, Milan, International Festival of Maastricht and other.

Since 2003 Molardi, conducts the ensemble 7 Virtuosi delle Muse, devoted to the performance and the rediscovery of the vocal and the instrumental music, especially the Italian one of the 17th and 18th century, which he himself founded and with which he has toured important festivals of early music.

He has recorded for Christophorus, Tactus, Divox, Deutsch Grammophon. For his latest recordings, Molardi has obtained many positive reactions from music critics (Amadeus, Early Music) and important international awards (5 "diapasons" from the French journal).
