Forbidden Love adapted by Ponyi Borbála r Gagarin Általános Iskola, Salgótarján Summary: The story is set in and around a present day High School. It concerns a group of teenagers, two of whom, Betty and Joe, are engaged. The engagement is a secret, though, as the two families quarrelled some time ago, and have forbidden the children to speak to each other. However, Betty confides in a few of her friends, who decide to hold a surprise party for the couple. In the days leading up to the party, tensions develp between Betty and Joe. Joe is jealous of Bruce, another friend, who is a rival for Betty's love. Betty likes Bruce, but gives in to Joe's demand for her not to help him with his student representative election campaign. Betty is also angry with Joe for putting off telling their parents the truth about the situation. Meanwhile, both sets of parents are beginning to regret the quarrel, although neither couple feel able to approach the other to make up. The day of the party arrives. The friends are very excited. However, soon after the party starts, a row breaks out between Betty and Joe. Then their parents arrive. Caroline was unable to keep the secret, and told her father, who in turn told Betty's parents.
