Summary: Grandmother starts telling her grandson a bedtime story about mice and a cat who all live in a big house in a big city. Soon the cat and the mice arrear on the stage. The cat is asleep; some mice try to go and look for food. The cat wakes up and chases them. The mice manage to get into their hole. They decide to call a family meeting: something must be done about the cat. Morris Mouse has a good idea, but there is no one who would be willing to carry out the plan. Grandmother finishes her story and sends Nick, the grandson, to bed.
