ív tu vcs nagymami es nagypapa. Ő rdemes voll megtenni ezt a hosszú utat Gyöngyösig. Csak pár napja vagyunk itt. de már rengeteg kellemes élményben volt részünk. Ez kb. 40 ezer lakosú kedves kis város, ba­rátságos, sok szép műemlék épülete van. jókat lehet sétálni, nézelődni. Meglátogattuk a rend­kívül gazdag egyházi gyűjteményt, a ferences templomot és kolostort, nektek is biztosan tet­szett volna. A Mátra Művelődési Központ modem kulturális intézmény (itt egy kiállítást néz­tünk meg), üvegablakaihoz hasonlót még nem láttunk: a különleges színek, formák a helyi jel­legzetességekről. életmódról mesélnek. Tegnap belecsöppentünk a szüreti fesztivál mozgalmas karneváljába: a szőlő és bor ünne­pe ez lovas kocsikkal, pompás viseletekkel. borlovagokkal. Délután a farkasmályi pincéknél nem tudtunk ellenállni egy kedves helyi borosgazda szíves invitálásának - egy pohár pincehi­deg fehérbor igazán jólesett. Aztán persze szétnéztünk a boltokban - a kirakatok csábítóak. Sé­ta közben rengeteget fotóztunk, reméljük, sikerültek. Az itteniek rendkívül vendégszeretők: egy bácsi elkísért minket a Vármegyeháza épületé­hez. s közben a városról mesélt: megtudtuk, hogy Gyöngyösnek Károly Róbert király adomá­nyozott városi rangot 1334-ben. hogy a szőlőművelés és bortermelés évszázadok óta a legfon­tosabb gazdasági tevékenység a városban és környékén, de azt is. hogy innen indult a hírnév felé a Vidróczki Néptáncegyüites. mely a Mátra híres betyárjának nevét viseli. Ő ajánlotta ne­künk. hogy feltétlenül nézzük meg az. Orczy-kastélyban a Mátra Múzeum kiállításait, ahol ér­dekes ásványok, várostörténeti és vadászati kiállítás és még egy mamut csontváza is látható. Ezt a gyerekek is biztosan élvezni fogják. Holnap este kórushangverseny lesz a Szt. Bertalan- templomban - ez lesz a mi „búcsúprogramunk''. így egy nappal később utazunk tovább a Mát­rába. onnan is írunk majd. Sok puszit küld Éva. Gyöngyös is a fascinating patchwork of about 40,000 inhabitants and beautiful historic buildings steeped in history. Just an ideal place for wandering about! You'd have had a great time with us visiting the splendid treasury, the Franciscan church and monastery. The ..Mátra” Cultural Centre is an up-to-date building with charming coloured windows telling about the local way of living. Yesterday we saw some interesting programmes at the Vintage Festival, a cheerful feast of the new wines of the area. In the afternoon we simply could not resist the kind invitation of a nice local farmer to taste some of the white wines so typical of this region. Later we also took some time to browse for some souvenirs in the nice shops. While strolling through the town we took a lot of beautiful pictures. We hope you'll like them! The local people are very friendly. An elderly man, for example, showed us the fascinating building of the old county hall and he also told us about the history of Gyöngyös. It became a town in 1334 and has had close bonds with wine-growing for centuries. It is also very famous for its folk dance ensemble „Vidróczki”. He suggested visiting the exhibition in „Mátra” Museum, Housed in the building of the for­mer „Orczy” Castle, it is an amazing display of beautiful minerals, hunting, local customs and life in days gone by. We were amazed when we caught sight of the skeleton of a huge mam­moth! The kids were simply mad about the place! We are going to a choir-concert in St. Bartholomew church tomorrow. Liebe Oma. Lieber Opa! P s lohnte sich den langen Weg bis Gyöngyös zurückzulegen, kJ Wir sind hier erst einige Tage, doch haben wir schon sehr viele schöne Erlebnisse. Die Stadt hat etwa 40.000 Einwohner, ist sehr freundlich, ver­fügt über viele schöne Denkmäler, kann man gute Spaziergänge machen. Wir haben die reiche kirchliche Sammlung, die Franzis­kanerkirche und das Kloster besucht, die hätten sicher auch Euch gefallen. Das Bildungszentrum „Mátra” ist eine moderne kulturelle Einrichtung (hier haben wir eine Ausstellung angeschaut), seine Fensterscheiben sind einfach einzigartig: die selt­samen Farben und Formen erzählen viel über die hiesigen Eigentümlichkeiten und Lebensführung. Gestern sind w ir in den Weinlesekarneval geraten: er ist ein Fest des Weines mit Pferdekut­schen und mit prächtiger Volkstracht. Am Nachmittag konnten wir der Einladung eines lieben Weinwirtes bei den Weinkellern von Farkasmályi nicht widerstehen - der kellerkühle Wein schmeckte aber sehr. Dann schauten wir in den Läden um. die Auslagen sind nämlich ver­lockend. Unterwegs haben wir zahlreiche Aufnahmen gemacht, wir hoffen, dass sie gelungen sind. Die Menschen sind hier sehr gastfreundlich: ein unbekannter netter Herr hat uns zum „Komitatshaus” betreut und hat viel über die Stadt erzählt: wir haben erfahren, dass die Siedlung das Stadtrecht im Jahre 1334 von König Karl Robert erhielt, dass der Weinanbau die wichtigste Wirtschaftstätigkeit der Stadt und in der Umgebung ist. dass das berühmte Volkstanzensemble „Vidróczki” in Gyöngyös zu Hause ist. - es trägt den Namen des grössten Betjaren des Mátra-Gebírges. Er hat uns empfohlen die Ausstellungen des Mátra-Museums in Orczy-Schloss unbedingt zu besichtigen: hier sind wertvolle Mineralien, eine stadthistorische und Jagdausstellung zu sehen, man kann auch das Skelett eines Mammuts bewunden. Morgen findet in der Sankt-Bartholomäuskirche ein Chorkonzert statt - es wird unser Abschiedsprogramm. So fahren wir ein Tag später ins Mátra-Gebirge weiter, von da schreiben wir auch.
