A tó ATisza-tó két főközlekedési út, a 3-as és 4-es között található, megközelítése gépkocsival és vasúton is lehetséges. Szolnok irányából a 34- es, Debrecenből a 33-as számú úton juthat ide a látogató. A térség úthálózata és a folyót átívelő hidak biztosítják a Tisza-tó körüli közlekedést. A tó közel 80 km hosszúságú partvonala, gyorsan felmelegedő, változó mélységű vize kiváló lehetőséget nyújt pihenésre, sportolásra egyaránt.
