SOUTH HEVES smell of wild flowers, the flaming sun or the purple sundown, the floating clouds, the songs of birds, the tolling bells, and the closeness of nature are waiting to be discovered. Anglers always make a rich capture of carps, silures, pikes, and ikeperches. Going west on the northern shore of Lake Tisza you arrive at Sarud and then at Kisköre. Both villages are centers for water sports. It is a magnificent feeling to go for a row after a week's hard work: you may listen to the splash of the oars and lap of the waves, and seek relaxation on the islands. These lakes are special in the sense that they do not only allow sailing and surfing but also the use of gas-driven motor boats. The National Triathlon Championship held annually in Kisköre makes the place even more important. Together with a number of supporting programs the Championship is organized in June in each year. It is recommended to use the tourist maps of Bükk (southern part) and Mátra and the map of Heves county.
