Can be visited all year round, without entrance fee. According to the legend, Jesus and Peter apostolé were walking around the vineyards of Istenmezeje. They were very thirsty and asked for a glass of water. The women didn't give them any water, and Jesus changed the grape into stone.

Waterfall in the valley of Ilona

The waterfall in the valley of Ilona is the largest among the three waterfalls of Hungary, about 10 m large. The Ilona brook leaves from two small springs, that are fed by the Tőkés-well. The Ilona brook, getting wedged i n the sheer side of the Marhád (606 m) and Cserepes peak (734 m), will get through the rocks. After leaving the nicest valley of the Mátra and getting through the last rock, it falls down. The vertical wall of the waterfall is the end of a 60 m wide basin, that shows its real beauty, when we approach it from the Sándor- meadow. The 20-30 m tall beech-trees and the rocks command a wonderful view.
