Her attitude is similar to that of the painters of pictographs, who believed that what they painted would come true. It is not likely though that this is analogous wizardry performed with a painters tools and that her paintings are some kind of magical pictures. At the most, only in so far as when completed, these colour relations may become reality, new pieces of the world, such that have not existed before. Refining and developing her techniques in water-colours, today Ibolya Paparó is composing better and better pictures, quite large in size. While keeping the freshness of the large spots, she arranges her blotches in such a way that the "forepictures" of her style, her intellectual relations seem to be retraceable in the European - mainly French - lyric abstract painting of the sixties, or in the "Zugló Circle” in Hungary. But the way Ibolya Paparó has got close to these within her own world is a result of a totally independent process.
