Aladár Bitskey Swimming-pool Designed by Imre Makovecz, the swimming-pool was built by the Self-government of Eger Town of County Rank between 1998 and 2000. It got its name after Aladár Bitskey (1906-1991), who was a deservedly famous swimmer of Eger, Hungarian Champion, and medalist in the European Championships. For several decades, he taught the basics of swimming to thousands of Eger children. The swimming-pool, with an 8-track pool for contests and a 16 m by 8.5 m pool for learning, is suitable for organizing international swimming, water-polo and diving championships, as well.
