VINTAGE WEEKS IN EGER 5TH-20TH SEPTEMBER 1998

For years Vintage Days, held at the 2nd weekend of September year by year.has been the greatest and the most popular programme of the town of Eger. Those visiting this picturesque city this year will be able to meet the extended version of this traditional event. The programme called Vintage Weeks in Eger will start 5th September and finish 20th September. During the weekdays of these two and a half weeks of a series of events. The scene of the performances, beginning at 18.00, will be the main square of the town of Eger, called Dobó tér. Our dear guests will have a choice of the most variable art programmes ranging from classical, popular and folk music concerts to theatre performances and dance shows.

At weekends, those interested may be prepared for greater events. The series of programmes will start out with a national event: on 5th and 6th September the National Folkmusic Competition and The Meeting of the Guards of Palóc Tradition will be organised with the title “Ősszel érik, babám” (It gets ripe in autumn, baby). The main scene of these events will be the legendary valley, called Szépasszonyvölgy.

We have the honour to draw your attention to the programmes of the second weekend. 11-12-13 September: Vintage Festival and the First International Meeting of Pipers in Hungary. From Friday noon to Sunday noon continuous programmes and genuine festival atmosphere are waiting for our dear guests in the historical city of Eger.

The last weekend is for the smallest ones: 19-20 September: Vintage Children’s Days. From Saturday morning to Sunday noon everything will happen in favour of the children in Dobó tér. It is also recommendend as a family outing.
