3. The Local Studies Group of the Association of Hungarian Librarians (HKSZ). - 3.7. National Surveys. - 3.7.2. The Conference evaluation survey.

The uptake of electronic information sources, online catalogues and the internet, was low. Conclusion The results of these surveys should inform not only local studies librarians, but also the HKSZ, library directors and their departmental heads. The comments given by the public regarding access to and the organisation of the heritage of the community, held in local studies collections, should give some direction to the quality management of these resources, their promotion and preservation. 3.7.2. The Conference evaluation survey The annual national Conferences of the HKSZ are jointly organised by the committee of the HKSZ and by the officers of the Bibliographic Section of the Association of Hungarian Librarians. They are a good example of interdisciplinary co-operation by both Groups. At the national Conference held in Kaposvár, 18 th - 20 th July 2001, the HKSZ committee, with the agreement of the Bibliographic Section, asked the participants to complete a questionnaire. This questionnaire had been compiled by Erzsébet Gáncs 1 9 and it requested feedback from the conference members on the conference themes and organisation. It was intended that any ideas and suggestions from the attendees would inform future conference planning. The results of the Survey (summary) 61% of those members of the HKSZ who completed the questionnaire had attended 6 or more of the national annual Conferences. This is a strong core of loyal conference delegates whose experience and evaluation of the conference proceedings is robust and convincing. The committee should build on their comments and recommendations. These librarians come to the annual Conferences to make professional contacts but also to build informal relationships outside the professional arena. Proposals for future Conference programmes included: * shorter lectures with visual aids * sessions on more practical topics * setting u pof more informal round table discussion groups http://www.vmmk.hu/hksz 72
