Those organising the ceremony, the Historical Jurisdiction Committee, the Alliance of Hungárián Political Prisoners and the relatives of the martyrs, have asked our group to erect monuments and carve wooden headboards to honour the executed heroes. Our activities have alvays been closely connected witb the ideas and events of the 1956 Hungárián revolution and freedora fight. Recently we organised and initiated the celebrations fór the 30th anniversary of the revolution, rechristeneing the Lajos Batthyány-Imre Nagy Sanctuary Lamp and declaring it a memóriái, organising the intemational art competition and exhibition "Fighting City" and carving the monument which was erected on plot 301 on November 4th 1988. According to our calculations, counting 350 headboards, our venture will cost approximately 300,000 Forints. A list of donors will occupy a prominent piacé in the cemetery, expressing our personal thanks and marking the continuity and connection between the former and contemporary representatives of the ideas of 1956. This is an occasion where we can express our political convictions and affiliations, because the victims of 1956 are related to all of us, con- sidering as they did that the cause of Hungárián independence is sacred and fór which they died.
