After the introductory speech by Karoly Vigh, a histórián, several ex-prisoners recalled the events - Sándor Racz, Imre Mécs, István Eó'rsi. On Sunday October 23rd at 7 pm the Jurta Theatre will organise a commemoration. The two hour programme was pút together by the relatives of those executed and by ex-56- prisoners - Aliz Halda, György Litván, Imre Mécs, Miklós Vásárhelyi, István EÖrsi - and Fruzsina Magyar will help the company as the dramaturgist. The programme will be like a documentary and will recall times before the revolution (extraets from the writings of Imre Nagy will be read out), the days of revolution and the reprisals. All tickets have have been sold out so the Jurta Theatre will hold an extra performance at 4- pro. The organisers request all those who are interested bút who do nőt have tickets to go to the 4 o’clock performance as seats fór the evening performance cannot be guaranteed. This moming Gyula Mezei the leader of the City Council’s Gultural Department visited the theatre, he expressed his anxieties about the performance and stressed that such a performance would have been inconceivable a few months ago. He said that the future of the theatre depends on the programme staying within the parameters of a documentary and referring to the pro test planned in the moming by independent groupings he said that the programme must nőt become a sort of "detonating fuse". These two Sunday performances will nőt bring the 56 commemorations to an end. 0n Thursday October 27th András Mezei will conduct a discussion with the ex-Prime Minister András Hegedűs, questions will be posed that the October 23rd documentary cannot answer.
