The first four points of the draft agreement set forth the common principles of the two organisations. The first states that people can only enjoy freedom if everybody is equally free. They are both committed to individual freedom rights and as inter- nationalists do nőt acknowledge any artificial political or geographical boundaries of freedom. The second point stresses the mutual responsibility of young people to establish peaceful changes all over the world. The third emphasises the importance of working together either as individuals or as organisations towards realising their shared ideals. The fourth point is as follows: "We recognise in particular the historic interest and support given by British Liberals to Central European national- ities and communities which seek the rights to self-determination, and - as inheritors of this tradition - the Young Democrats in England are committed to supporting their sisters and brothers amongst the Young Democrats in Hungary, in taking up the chal- lenges of today". The fifth and final point states the necessity of securing mutual support and aid. Dávid Campanale declared after signing the draft agreement that "We have taken a very important step towards bridging the English Democrats and the Hungárián indep- endent movements which are now developing". Zsolt Nemeth said that "The YDA welcomes this occasion when European youth is ereating a United and radical front against the anti-democratic powers on our continent."
