Press Conference Held Bv Szárszó Front. Yesterday the Network fór Free Initiatives, which assembles partüpants from many independent Hungárián groupings, held a public council meeting. About one hundred töok párt ín the meeting held in the Bakony restaurant’s function room. The spokes- people reported on the declaration issued by the Network since the last council meeting and gave the names of the new members co-opted intő the council, among thera are Iván Baba, Bálint Magyar and Júlia Mátrai. Miklós Szabó, histórián, said that a three member committee had been formed to evaluate and judge the bilis conceming the law of association and assembly which have recently been made public. Drafts assegsing the modifying proposals were distributed to those present. Then a statement was adopted which greeted the Hungárián Democratic Fórum on the ocoasion of its declaration that it was now a national social organisation. On behalf of the Historical Jurisdiction Committee the histórián György Litván asked those present to support its three sec- tions, the historical, legal and clemency.. sections. In its second declaration of Aug- ust 23rd the Committee demanded among other things that the 301st plot in the Rakos- kersztúr Cemetery where those executed in '56 lie should be declared a sacrec piacé, and that a great public monument should be raised to the victims. In the meeting there was a report about the international humán rights conference in Kralców and the "Szárszó 88" youth camp. The spokespeople said that the Network sees itself as a social organisation and after the law of association and assembly comes intő effect it will asked to be registered. The Network wishes to organise a public meeting in October or Novemberi in order to prepare fór this,to discuss the date and the details of its organisation it will hold a meeting in the Bakony Restaurant on September 19th at 6 pm. Today the organisers of the "Szárszó Front" which was formed on August 30th in the "Szárszó *88" meeting held a press conference in the Rajk László Technical College: representatives of patriotic and social-political clubs and technical colleges. They said that the Szárszó Front was nőt a party bút wants to act as a national political and social organisation. It endeavours to transform the political system and organise a democratic autonomous society. 120 people representing 15 organisations have joined already.
