In it he says that he worked as a worker fór forty years and that he shared the joys and sorrows of his fellow workers through the critical moments of four decades. He continues by saying that "There were very many critical moments in the last forty years just as there are today, when those who are afraid of losing their power rumble about economic problems over our heads when it is us who cause all the problems - Hungárián workers - because we do nőt work in order to produce enough to satisfy their endless squandering. Those anxious fór power must know what we know: that the basic problems of Hungárián society are political in origin and they can only be solved by political means." Sándor Racz went on to recall May lsts after the war when the working eláss had confidence in the future, and he asked the question: Who is responsible fór frus- trating hopes, fór unemployment, fór the lack of prospects fór the young and fór the misery of older workers? He spoke bittérly of those politicians who daily ex- pect more work from the workers bút are nőt concemed with the workers* future and finally he cheered May lst, the celebration of intemational working eláss solidarity.
