They alsó searched all the YDA members from Budapest justifying these actions by declaring that the YDA declaration "encourages people to jóin an illegal organis- ation". However they could nőt explain why the new youth organisation has been classified as unlavful bút merely said that '*Their friends are finding that out in Budapest”. This proves how well informed the police are, nőt in legal mattéra bút of the steps taken by the authorities. The YDA members complained against the proceedings bút vere able to substitute the confiscated matériái by the aftemoon. At the same time in Budapest, at 2 pm, five members of the YDA, Miklós Andrási, Iván Csaba, Dr László Kövér, Dr Viktor Orbán and András Rácz and Attila Begany a member of the National Club Council and Bertalan Ditzházy, an active participant in the club movement, vere summoned to the City Prosecutor*s Office. These summons had requested a discussion so the YDA members rang up to ask vhat would result if they did nőt appear fór the "discussion”, no answer vas fortheoming. They vere récéived by three people at the Prosecutor*s Office who introduced them- selves as colleagues in the anti-state department. They said that the YDA had been classified as an illegal organisation because the YDA*s founding declaration con- tained statements which could nőt be reconciled vith certain paragraphs in the con- stitution. They spoke of those statements concerning ownership and the leading role of the Hungárián Socialist Workers Party, they said that according to the youth law the united youth organisation in Hungary is the Communist Youth Alliance. The YDA members replied that they understood the Prosecutors statement and asked if it could be published, they then left the building. They are all of the viev that the yord "united" does nőt mean "sole" and thus they could legally form the név youth organisation and there is no paragraph in the constitution vhich mentions the Party*s leading role.
