There are three workers in the committee, a priest - Mihai Anghel a Greek Orthodox priest - and five intellectuals including the economist from Timisoara Comel Rosca. The committee published a declaration in which they announced that they are United to "Free Románia" - Románia Libera - which has been active fór somé time in Románia and Hungary. It states that the Ceau^escu dictatorship is responsible fór the Románián crisis and mass emigration, the Románián nation believes in democracy. The commitee asks the Hungárián government to treat the refugees in a responsible way, in a humanitarian manner, to observe the stipulations of intemational treaties and to accomodate them intő Hungárián economy and society. It requests the U.N., the International Red Cross and religous and charitable organisations to help unité families and to protect those family members who are still in Románia. Miklés Tamás Gáspár, who is alsó Transylvanian, warned those refugees who are without papers that their situation and future is uncertain in contemporary Hungary. In the Germán Federal ftepublic Green Party M.P.s demand that the government condemns Ceaugescu’s dictatorship and asks the press fór more information about the measures which deprive the national minorities of their national identity. A delegation from the Reformed World Alliance which was to examine the reasons fór increased emigration, the restriction of education in the native tongue and resettlement was asked to cancel its visit by leadera of the Reformed Church in Románia. In the additional Helsinki conference in Vienna Andrá Erdős, the leader of the Hungárián delegation, ürgéd that its final clauses must demand thát national minority rights are respected. He pointed out that in Austria, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and„espécially in the Soviet Union"Hungárián national minority rights are respected in an exemplary manner.
