In recent years several such meetings have taken piacé bet- ween the Opposition and Western diplomats - English, American, Dutch, West Germán and Austrian - , nőt long ago a delegate from the NATO parliament invited repres- entatives of the Opposition to a friendly discussion. Miklós Haraszti, János Kis,, Tamás Molnár and Miklós Gáspár Tamás were invited to yesterday's reception. At 7 pm representatives from the intemational press - chiefly French journalists - questioned those present and tvo Western TV companies made videós, then the French Foreign Minister and the experts accompanying him had a discussion vith the guests. During the friendly exchange vhich lasted nearly half an hour they touched on Central-Eastern European - including the Hungárián and Polish - political and economic situation, the crisis of the political institute System, the question of Hungárián reform, the role of the Hungárián Socialist Workers Party and hov it is regarded by society, the possibility of a multi-party system and Soviet politics. However the Foreign Minister was primarily interested in the state of humán rights. He expressed his anxiety about the imprisonment of conscientious objectors and other infringements of rights - fór example the restric- tion of the right to travel - and stressed that Francé would do anything to ensure the exercise of humán rights.
