The report says that he is "still nőt in possession of his rights as his identity papers, without which a Hungárián Citizen is nőt a Citizen, have nőt been returnéd." The report gives a detailed account of the measures taken by the committee in Rusai’s defence. Their attempt to find a Valid legal defence fór Rusai was nőt suc- cessful. A young lawyer from Salgótarján who would have represented him uas forced to drop the case within a few days. The Committee was nőt able to have Rusai transferred to the Pesthidegkút Psychiatric Hospital in a "peaceful and regular" way. The chief medical officer there - Dr. Denes Goldschmidt - , who has meanwhile retired, and the assistant who is temporarily in charge both corresponded and telephoned the Gyöngyös Hospital bút to no avail. The assistant wrote out a transfer order fór March 7th bút it was to no effect as the head physician in Gyöngyös Dr. árpád Béla - writes the Committee - did nőt release his prisoner and at the same time the Heves County state security agencies pressurized Rusai’s family. The Gordian knot was finally cut by Rusai - the report continues - , on February 29th during a few days leave of absence he escaped and voluntarily présénted himself at Pesthidegkút. When he realised he could be admitted to Pesthidegkút on March 7th he wrote to the Gyöngyö's Hospital announcing that he would nőt return there. He hid in Budapest until March 7th when he was admitted to the Pesthidegkút Hospital’ s Psychiatric Ward. The report ends by saying that several Gyöngyös inhabit- ants have sought out members of the Committee and informed them that the Gyöngyös Psychiatric head physician alsó commits other medical abuses.
