icipants agreed that such a mutual agreement could only be created with aunity of all progressive social strengths. In their opinion the crisis can only be solved with social participation and with the participation of both society and the political leaders of the country. In the recent system of social and political organs the development of self-supporting and independent ideas is nőt ensured.

So they propose that a Hungárián Democratic Fórum is established which would pro- vide a setting fór a continuous public dialogue, suitable fór debating our ser- ious problems, the analysis of different themes and preparing alternative solution proposals. This fórum is envisaged as an open fórum by the participants, both democratic and national minded. Its work depends on the cooperation of people with different world views and party affiliations. They believe it is important that the essence of these discussions and analyses is made known to the Hungárián public. Thus they think it is necessary to set up independent press organs which work within the constitutional framework. We believe that we can come out of the crisis with the widespread collaboration of the forces of renewal."

According to sources in Budapest the above-mantioned Hungárián Democratic Fórum wishes to hold an International press conference in the near future, and their forty page programme will be issued.- 2 \______________________________________________________________________________________________.
