Protest of "Zsolt Keszthelyi Committee" against Imprisonment of a Polish Conscientious Ob.jector

A day before yesterday 23 years old Piotr Rózycki was sentenced to two and a half years imprisonment by a Bydgoszcz court on the charge of refusal of military service. Protesting against the sentence, members of Budapest-based "Zsolt Keszthelyi Committee" sent a telegram today to the Polish embassy in Budapest. The telegram reads as follows:

Embassy of the Polish People’s Republic,

16 Gorkij fasor, Budapest VI.

Your Excellency,

Ve protest against the imprisonment of Rózycki. We demand that you respect the U.N. decision and that no Polish conscientious objector be kept in prison.

It is known that Polish movement "Freedom and Peace" distributed leaflets and organized demonstrations a few months ago against the imprisonment of Zsolt Keszthelyi who refused to do his military service since he is unwilling to serve in the army of an authoritarian régimé.
