The Second Instance Trial of Zsolt Keszthelyi

The hearing of appeal, on the second instance, of Zsolt Keszthelyi was being held on the 28th of May, Thursday at 11.30am in Budapest in the Béla Stollár Street building of the Military Board of the Supreme Court. As is known, Zsolt Keszthelyi objecting to military service on the grounds of his democratic political con- viction, had been arrested on the 25th of Pebruary and sentenced fór three years imprisonment on the first instance on the 27th of April. Since that a new barrister has been officially appointed fór Keszthelyi in the person of dr László Bett, who is unwilling to give any information on the case of Keszthelyi. Keszthelyi has been kept isolated ever since the sentence on first instance, he was being transpor- ted from one prison to another, and nőt allowed to speak with his relatives,

let alone his friends. The "Zsolt Keszthelyi Committee" of the Hungárián democratic opposition issued a statement at the end.of the last week on the situation of Zsolt Keszthelyi.
