Krassé 1/1986 /E/ 15th October, 1986 AMHOUMCKIEU'J "Inconnu", the independent group of artista, and tna aamizdat publiahers ABC and Artéria announced an art competition in the Auguat 14th iaaue of Iné New York ueview of booka. in connection with the anniversary of the 1956 Hungárián kevolution. The competition waa called "The Fighting City". The announcera of the competition give the following inforniutioni 1. The membera of the "Inconnu" group were aumiuoned to the police station on September 26th 1906. There tney were told tnat they would be banned írom Budapest if they were to go ahead with the exhibition, acheduled to open in October. 2. There is a reason to suppoae that somé of the artworka 3ent through the poat were never delivered by orders of the authoritiea. 3. The only artworka received from abroad by the atated closure date fór the competition were the following: Jesaica Gwynne, nondon, GB Judith Roberta, Oxford, GB Glenn Helm, Arizona, USA N. Rubington, New York, USA Sophie Rivera, New York, USA Stephen O’Harrow, Honolulu. Under the circumatancea, 1. We have extended the cloaure date fór entries to the competition till November 30th 1986. 2. We would like to aak everyone wno entered a piece of work, bút whose nume doea nőt appeur on tliu above liat, to mako un official complaint to the Hungurian Embuasy in hia or her country. 3. Any new worka should nőt be poated, bút rather aent by hand through personal contacta to our published addreaaea. ' 4. Any new competitora and anyone whoae artwork haa nőt been delivered to us, ahould notify the following person: G.
