Éva Kelemen The geology of the constitutent and decorative rocks of the famous church buildings in Eger This study deals with seven church buildings in Eger in geological and artistical respects. The aim was to give help for the reconstruction and to clear somé technical terms. The first part deals with somé problems: difficulties in the identification of the rocks, in finding the originál place of the rocks and the absence of the special literature. In the lack of the couldn't do any microscopical observations, the identification of the rocks is based on documents found in record offices and the documents of the art buildings, and the documents concerning the mines.
