115 szólítását. Magyarország városai között leginkább Debrecen városa bűnözött Ferenc József király ellen. Ennek következtében- ’’...városotok általam elfoglalandó” Követelése: 43 000 mérő liszt, 1000 előfogat. A polgármester vezetésével küldöttség kereste fel a tábornokot és kérték a sarc csökkentését - hiába. Másnap a hadtest egy része bevonult a városba. A városi tanács „szomorú és megszorított helyzetében” hódoló feliratot intézett a császárhoz. A második megszálló s az augusztus 2-ai csatavesztés után következett be és szeptember 19-ig tartott. Debrecen szomorú napjai voltak ezek, de nem feledtették a szabadság fényes időszakát. (1849. július 3-6.) István Gazdag It happened 150 years ago Events of the 1848-49 War of Independence and Revolution in Debrecen and Bihar county and the Hajdú-District On the occasion of the 150th anniversary a wide range of studies and source-material publications appeared on local and nation-wide scales. Our selection is trying to draw attention, besides the well-known events of the area, to the weekdays of the revolution. There emerged problems with the organisation of the national guard, and in ensuring the appropriate equipment - primarily weapons, in the training of recruits (e.g. in artillery). One can feel uncertainty about the body of representatives, the municipal authorities, and the less-than-efficient organisation of production.
