Tanulmányok - Módy György: Ohat nemzetsége és a kései Ohati család birtokai

35 tery raised in respect to the Blessed Virgin Mary, could have already been standing. The remains of the temple's foundations were excavated by Lajos Zoltai in 1905. The earliest incidental properties to Ohat monastery were the villages of Árkusd, Hodos and Sziles. The patron saint of Ohat village church was Saint George. The church was destroyed in the XVII. century. Following the death without an heir of János the last male member of the main line of the family, the estate at Pércs was granted to the neighbouring land owner Csépán by the King in 1270. In 1282 the King reaffirmed the bestowal to Csépán's son Dénes. But Uhod's son János could also have had estates in Köteles, Hort and Egyek villages. Ohat monastery and incidental properties were occupied before 1299 by Domokos an inhabitant of Rátót village, and in the same year got rid of it as an exchange estate. Csépán's second son Mike, and his daughter's husband and their offspring also laid claim to the villages listed above - for Ohat and incidental properties also. In 1318, Mike of Pércs and his cousin Omoldus of Egyek, got back Ohat monastery and incidentals from the King. In 1335, the sons of Mike exchanged the half share due to them from the small estate, the abbey and the patronage for the shares in Pércs and Köteles of their second cousin Count Miklós the son of Márton. Following this the descendants of Miklós and Omoldus, the two later Ohat families took up the Ohat name. The earliest incidentals to the monastery, Árkusd, Hodos and Sziles became uninhabited estates by the end of the 1330-ies. The largest estate share at Egyek remained the property of the husband of Csépán's third daughter, Count Erney of Egyek. With the death of Ornoldus's grandson László before 1418, one of the Ohat families became extinct, and with the violent death of Miklós's grandson János in 1438 - which was caused by István and László Bajoni, the sons of his sister Katalin - , the other became extinct also. The heirs on the female side litigated for a long time, but in 1456 the whole Ohat domain, together with the part estate of Egyek, became the property of István Bajoni.
