The events in Debrecen of the parliamentary elections which took place under the circumstances of a one party regime (1949-1985), were played out according to the scenario of a centralised political will. The modifications to the law on voting rights (the introduction of the reserve representative institution, a plurality' of candidates, individual voting districts) did not result in any essential changes.
