DIARY OF AN ANONYMOUS PERSON ABOUT 1696—1700 Part Two Published by Kálmán Radies The first part of the „Diary of an Anonymous Person” was published by us in the nineteenth issue of the year-book. In this second part the supposed author, István Lévai notray followed the events considered to be significant by him with attention from May of 1699 to the 4th of AugustJ 1700. The stable of János Pósalaki notary and senator got on fire but with the help of people coming from the church the putting out of fire was successful and quick. German billeting officers were suspected of the incendiarism. The author writes about the renewal and wan­dering of borders, about the making dance fo green trees by the French soldiers, about the brawls of soldiers and town residents, about the taxes collected bridges of Hortobágy and Máta and about the murders and ravages of the German billeting officers. On the 23r(i of September from 8 to 11 hours there was an eclipse of the sun, the mountain vintage started on the 18th 0f October in that year. On the 10th 0f December there was raining snowing and hailing accompanied by powerful thun­derclaps. We can read about people sent different places in the matters of tithes, cenzus, cutoms and taxes, about the repairs of the town bridges, about the gilding of ball, vane and star of the red tower carried out by painters of Kassa, about the shing­ling of the tower and about the material used for shingling. The Diary ends with the indication of the repairing work of the „Fejér” tower became crakled.
