Visszemlékezés - Béres András: Visszaemlékezés a Debreceni Népi Együttes negyvenéves történetére

RECOLLECTIONS OF THE 40 YEARS HISTORY OF THE DEBRECEN FOLK GROUP András Béres The Debrecen Folk Group was founded in spring of 1950 aiming at collecting and adapting the popular traditions, folk-songs and folk- dances primarily in our surroundings, the Plain and the Hajdú-Bihar county. Observing this aim it tried to preserve the traditions from generations to generations. As early as the beginning of the 1950’ on the basis of their own collections they created choreographies that have survived till our days: the Mikepércs csárdás, The quick Csárdás from Dorog, girls’ dance from Ajak or the Hortobágy pastoral dance, which after 30 years was taken over by the Hungarian State Folk Group. Representing our town and country the Debrecen Folk Group had performed at several Hungarian and international programmes. Several Hungarian and international rewards (22 festival prizes, 2 golden rose, the title „Eminent Group” given five times) mark the reputation as a group classified „golden”. The reader can get acquainted with the documents of the Debrecen Folk Group, which are in the Archive of Hajdú-Bihar county, and can be investigated (fond number (XXVIII.95.) 214
