„Acts of Archives of the year of 1969" - The Archives No. 1. Of GyőrSopron County took over the documents of Győr City Council up to the year of 1962. After nationalisation the city documents were placed in the basement of the Town/City Hall for two decades. Restoration of the records was finished in 1960. After the political changes the General Assembly of the Local Governmentof Győr City adopted a motion unanimously restitution of organisational independence of the city archives and it announced its new registered office in the old town hall. The Archives of Győr City has been active in this building since 1.March 1994. The City and County authorities agreed in the interest of city archives on taking the mutual interests into consideration. The Archives Division of the Section of Public Collection of the Ministry of Culture and Education permitted the establishment of the Archives of Győr City of County Rights and registered the new city institution. There are 10 employed people in the Archives now, and it stores 2300 linear metre documents.-The Győr Studies belong to the Archives, which is the scientific review of the city. The Archives regularly organises-exhibitions from its own materials. Business hours of research room is: Tuesday-Wednesday: 8-15, Thursday: 12-18, Friday: 8-12 hours
