poorly preserved. It is surely different from U. ruszovensis, which is characteristic for the Pliocene floras of Hungary (Fischer & Hably 1991). Myricaceae Myrica L. "Myrica" hakeaefolia (Unger, 1850) Saporta, 1865 sensu Engelhardt, 1885 (Pl. 18, figs. 3-5) 1856 Dryandroides hakeaefolia Heer; Heer, p. 100, pl. 98. figs. 1-3, pl. 99. figs. 4-8. 1861 Driandroides hakeaefolia Heer; Unger, p. 39, pi. 20, figs. 1-9. 1865 Dryandroides hakeaefolia Heer; Saporta, p. 100. 1985 "Myrica" hakeaefolia (Ung.) Sap. sensu Engelhardt; Hably, p. 109-110, pi. 29, figs. 3, 5. Material; 86.430.1., 86.431.2, 86.418.1. Description: The length of the most complete leaf is 10.5 cm, width 2.3 cm. Shape of lamina elongated obovate. Base and apex absent, margin toothed, Midvein strong, secondary veins run toward the margin and end in the tooth apex. Between the secondaries intersecondaries are running out of the midvein. Tertiary venation forms anastomoses. Teeth are big and sharp. Tooth apex acute. The basal side of the teeth straight or concave and much longer, than the apical side. Apical side slightly convex or straight. The distance between the teeth 0.4-0.8 cm, generally 0.7 cm. Discussion: Systematical position of specimens as "Myrica" hakeaefolia is uncertain. It is probable that différent species were published under this name in the paleobotanical literature. The remains from Ipolytarnóc are also a little different from the specimens of Pomáz. cf. Myrica palaeogale Pilar in Kutuzkina, 1964 (PI. 18, fig. 6) 1964 Myrica palaeogale Pilar; Kutuzkina, p. 182, pi. 2, figs. 1, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 19, p. 17, figs. 4, 24. Material: 86.416.2. Description: 3.4 long, 1.0 cm wide simple leaf. Shape of lamina elliptic, slightly asymmetrical. Base and apex absent, margin toothed. Venation semicraspedodromous. Tooth apex acute. Apical side of the tooth shorter than the basal one. Discussion: Similar specimens were described from the Lower Sarmatian flora of Ukraina, from the Middle Miocene flora of Jugoslavia as well as from the Pliocene flora of Spain.
