Vörös A. szerk.: Fragmenta Mineralogica Et Palaentologica 15. 1992. (Budapest, 1992)
Internal characters: There were no adequate specimens available for serial sectioning due to the paucity of the material. Remarks: Linguithyris aspasia and L. nimbata are regarded as synonyms. Previous authors separated the two species on the basis of the size of specimens and the depth of sulcus. However, these features show remarkable ontogenetic variation, therefore not suitable for distinction. The specimens of Lókút Hill are quite small, so these are probable juveniles. According to A. Vörös (pers. comm.), the large percentage of juvenile specimens of Jurassic brachiopods is common in the Bakony Mountains. As reflected in the synonymy, L. aspasia was classified into a number of genera (Terebratula, Waldheimia, Pygope, Glossothyris, Propygope, Nucleata, Linguithyris). Without a study of the internal characters Vörös's (1982) opinion is accepted here assigning the species to the genus Linguithyris. MaugeriPatané's (1924) specimen is very poorly preserved, therefore his determination is regarded uncertain. De Gregorio (1930, pi. 6, fig. 3) did not give an anterior view of his specimen with capillation. That specimen is probably not interprétable as L. aspasia. Distribution: According to Aimeras (1964), L. aspasia is Middle Sinemurian to Pliensbachian in age. Vörös (1982) mentioned the species from the Upper Sinemurian to the Lower Tbarcian of the Bakony Mountains. The specimens of Lókút Hill are of Early Sinemurian age, thus extend the global range of this species. The species was reported from the Eastern Alps (Hierlatz), the Southern Alps (Bergamo, Sospirolo, Piemonte), the Northern Appennines (Monte Pisano), the Central Appennines, Sicily, the Tell Atlas, the Western Carpathians, the Gerecse Mountains and the Bakony Mountains. Family CANCELLOTHYRIDIDAE THOMSON, 1926 Genus Phymatothyris COOPER and MUIR-WOOD, 1951 Phymatothyris sp. (Pl. IV, Fig. 5; Text-fig. 26) Material: 1 complete specimen. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.25. (Text-fig. 26) length: 10.7, width: 10.1, thickness: 5.7. Description - External characters: Small shell, circular in outline. The width is almost equal to the length while the thickness is about half of the length. The angle between the lateral margins is about 115°. Biconvex form, the pedicle valve is significantly more convex than the brachial one. The maximum width is situated at the posterior third, the maximum convexity is at half of the length. The beak is small and suberect. The lateral margins are straight, the anterior margin is slightly sulcate. The width of sulcus is one-third of the total width. Both valves are smooth.
