Genus Callospiriferina ROUSSELLE, 1977 Callospiriferina pinguis (ZIETEN, 1832) (Pl. IV, Fig. 1; Text-fig. 21) 1871 Spiriferpinguis ZIETEN - Quenstedt: p. 494, pl. 53, fig. 20. 1874 Spiriferina pinguis ZlETEN - Böckh: p. 132, pl. 4, fig. 9. 1886 Spiriferina pinguis ZlETEN - Di Stefano: p. 48, pl. 2, figs. 1-8. 1889 Spiriferina pinguis ZIETEN - Geyer: p. 77, pl. 9, figs. 13-18. Material: 8 pedicle valves. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.20. (Text-fig. 21) length: 18.5, width: 23.6, thickness: 16.7. Description - External characters: Large shell, triangular in outline. The width of pedicle valve is significantly greater than the height of pedicle valve. The thickness is smaller than the other two values. The angle between the lateral margins is about 95°. The slightly curved. The ventral interarea is equilateral, triangular in outline. The edges of interarea are rounded. The surface of interarea is slightly concave. There is a slightly concave fold in the pedicle valve. The width of fold is one-third of the total width and the depth of fold is 1-2 mm. The fold edges are rounded. The fold runs from the beak to the commissures. The shell surface is costate. The costae are low, developed only at the commissures. The number of costae is 20 to 24. There are 3 or 4 strong growth lines near the commissures. Internal characters: The internal character remains unknown, because only incomplete specimens of this species were found, so there was no possibility for serial sectioning. Remarks: The examined specimens show significant variability in the angle between the lateral margins, the curvature of beak, the size of fold, the number and the strength of costae. Distribution: According to Aimeras (1964), Callospiriferina pinguis is Sinemurian to Pliensbachian in age. The species was reported from Germany, the Eastern Alps (Hierlatz), Sicily (Taormina) and the Bakony Mountains.
