Material: 2 complete and 31 incomplete specimens. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.13. (Text-fig. 14) length: 13.4, width: 16.1, thickness: 10.1. Description -External characters: Medium-sized shell, subpentagonal in outline. The antero-lateral corners are slightly rounded. The angle between the lateral margins is about 90°. The width is greater than the length while the thickness is threequarters of the length. Biconvex form, both valves are equally convex. The maximum width is situated at the anterior third, the maximum convexity is at half of the length. The umbo of brachial valve is small and not prominent. The beak is medium-sized and strongly curved. The lateral interarea is concave and equilateral. The width of delthyrium is one-third of that of the interarea. The late- Text-fig. 14 - Drawing of ral commissures are almost straight but Liospiriferina obtusa slightly arched towards the pedicle valve at the anterior margin. The anterior commissure is strongly uniplicate. The height of plica is half of the thickness while the width of plica is greater than one-third of the total width. It develops at two-thirds of the length of the pedicle valve growing gradually towards the anterior margin. The fold edges are rounded. There are some growth lines on the shell surface. Internal characters: There were no adequate specimens available for serial sectioning, because mainly incomplete specimens of this species were found. Remarks: The examined species was originally described by Oppel (1861) as Spiriferina (cf. angulata) obtusa. The distinction from Liospiriferina angulata was
