LOCALITY Eperkés-hegy ("hegy"=hill) is located between the village of Olaszfalu and Highway 82 connecting the towns of Zirc and Veszprém (Text-fig. 1). The Jurassic rocks of this area have been frequently studied (Fülöp 1964, Konda 1970, Császár 1988, Galácz 1989) but because of the complicated structure and the lack of thorough investigations on important fossil groups, the understanding of the local geology of the area is rather imperfect. Textfig. 1 - Location of the outcrop. On the west, Eperkés-hegy is bordered by a nearly north-south trending structural line which was active during the Jurassic. It separated two main Liassic facies belts: a basin to the west and an elevated submarine area on the east side. This fault (or another but parallel Late Jurassic one) seems to cross the so called boui.d«,» of uyt.Klm«..rldgl.n V crinoid ..mpl.
