The length of the leaves is 0.8 cm, their width 0. 1 cm. The species is present in many Egerian floras in Hungary, though in relatively small quantities. Its presence denotes a marshy environment far from the locality, for only one specimen was found. LAURACEAE Daphnogene Unger Daphnogene bilinica (Unter) Kvacek et Knob loch (Figs. 1-13) (Pl. Material: MAFI: BK - 1150, BK-1158, BK-1176, BK-1186, BK1187, BK-1 1 88, BK-1 197, BK- 1200, BK-1301, BK- 1306, BK- 1309, BK-1313 lengths of the leaves are 2.9-6.0 cm, their widths vary between 1.0 and 2.2 cm. Their shape strongly elongated, obovate or ovate. The venation is acrodromous, suprabasal, imperfect. The basal veins run nearer to the margin than to the midvein to which they are connected in the upper third of the laminae. Apex, basis acute, margin entire. This species is very frequent in the Egerian stage of Hungary. It was found at Verőcemaros (HABLY 1982), Vértesszőlős and Kesztölc (HABLY, in press). According to KVACEK and WALTHER (1974), it is characteristic of the Miocene as well. A mass accumulation of the species is known from Ipolytarnóc (Lower Miocene), Hungary (HABLY 1985).
