New material collected and determined by the author between 1977-1985: M^- 2 specimens (R-II/B-7), M 9 - 2 specimens (R-II/B-7), M 1 - 1 specimen (R-III), M 3 specimens (R-II, R-III/4B, R-III/2B). Description: - The anteroconids are undivided (3 pieces), divided into two parts (7 pieces) and three parts (4 pieces, respectively. The anterolophulid is single (7 cases) or double (4 cases). The anterolophulid, the metalophulid and the protoconid meet in one point. The mesolophid is 1 mm Fig. 2 Lower second molars from the Hungarian Neogene localities: 1= Eumyarion bifidus from Rudabánya, 2-3= Democricetodon gaillardi from Rudabánya, 4-5 = Karstocricetus sp, from Széchenyi Hill in Budapest, 6= Kowalskia polonica from Osztramos 1, 7= Cricetus kormosi from Polgárdi 3, 8= Cricetus kormosi from Polgárdi 4 generally long, in seven cases it reaches the tooth margin, while in four cases it is shorter. It is important to note that in six specimens the ectomesolophid is present reaching out to the margin, while it is missing with the other specimen. The cone of the entoconid is not
