REDOY and PATRICK determined cadmium and lead concentrations in the soil and in rice, arriving at the conclusion that nearly all cadmium taken up by rice accumulated in the shoot, and total cadmium uptake heavily increased by decreasing pH. Soluble cadmium in the soil shows good correlation with the total Cd uptake of the plant.
