orated using geological-tectonic contstraints only, needs further isotope-geochronological evidence, and - according to the opinion of the present author - it does not furnish in its present form sufficiently established basis for the age-correlation of the basement rocks of the Great Plain. To solve this problem, detailed isotope-geochronological work is needed on samples having approached or reached the equilibrium evidenced by thermobarometric investigations.
