On the abscissa individual analy­ses are presented proceeding from the margin to the core Considering that a relatively large number of garnets are restricted to a very spe­cial rock type of negligible dimensions here, one would expect that individual grains have similar composition and zoning pattern. Surprisingly it is not the case, since traverses across different crystals have proved the existence of some variations. For example, if the crystals Tb-8/3 and 4 (Fig. 5) may be considered as high MnO (3.5 to 4.4 wt %), high FeO (32.3 to 33.2 wt %), low CaO (1.11 to 1.70 wt %) and low MgO (2.69 to 3.50 wt %) types, the crystal Tb-8/5 is low in MnO (2.46 to 2.83 wt %), FeO (31.7 to 32.3
