Fig. 1. Skull of the Sirenavus hungaricus from the original publication with the most important measures taken after the preparation: 1 = 18.0 cms; 2 = 10.6 cms; 3 = 14.8 cms; 4: 3.6 cms; 5 = 12.7 cms. - Fig. 2. Maxilla of Sirenavus hungaricus with the roots of M 3-M 1 - Fig. 3. Section of the left maxilla of Sirenavus hungaricus in the line of M 3 with the ramus mandibulae. Fig. 4. Top-view of the crown of the left M 3 M 3-M 1 is 5.5 cm, width of the maxilla measured at the outer edge of the M 2 s is 7.8 cm. Width and lenght values of the single teeth measured at the base of the crowns: M 3 M 2 M 1 lenght: 2.1 1.9 +1.4 cm width: 1.9 1.8 + 1.8 cm The back teeth of the upper row are bigger than the fore ones. Mandible (Fig. 3; Pl. I, Fig. 5-8): In 1941 the skull-base and the orbit were not cleaned. Only the dental enamel of M 3 indicated the presence of a mandible. After the opening up of these parts the fragments of the left and right mandible were found. Corpus mandibulae is represented only by the part under M 3 , but the ramus mandibulae is intact. The section of the corpus mandibulae is very narrow, lentifoTm. Its width is 1.8 cm measured under M 3 , in the middle, while its height is 6.0-6.5 cm. The canalis mandibulae runs in the central line inside the corpus; its section is rounded. Ramus mandibulae is highly developed, stretching deeply down under the ventral level of the corpus, about 2.0-2.2 cm below this, with an arched, rounded processus angularis. The incisura between the processus angularis and condylaris is deep, wedged, while it is slightly arched between the wide and flat processus condylaris and coronoldeus. Caput mandibulae is missing.
