is recorded under two names, designated as "Nana" and "Pénzeskut" beds, since HAUER's work (1862). The two stratigraphie terms can be characterized as follows: The "Nana beds" denote a definite sequence of varying thickness (locally several meters) in the Bakony, superimposed delimitably on the Albian layers. They have a considerable glauconite content (carried as "glauconitic marl" in literature). The "Pénzeskut beds" follow by continguous sedimentation into the glauconitic marl (this is the "turrilitic marl"). Following lauer, also a number of other authors separated the two formations also on this lithologie basis. The separation is not corroborated by the faunal picture. A more through study of the fauna substantiates unequivocally the Upper Albian and Vraconnian ages of the layers. It can be stated on the basis of the faunal elements that both the Dispar and Substauderi Zones are represented. The presence of the Cenomanian(heretofore often mentioned mainly on the ground of micropaleontological data, cannot be justified by the ammonites fauna. It is not precluded that more fortunate excavations may still show the presence of the Lower Cenomanian or a transition to it also by macrofaunas. In my material, I have relegated three fragments, conditionally and under an open name, to the genus Paracalycoceras (NAGY, 1971:28), a genus hitherto reported from the English and Texas Cenomanian. Their finer taxonomic position in the Bakony fauna might be decided by better preserved finds. Felhasznált irodalom - References B. CZABALAY, L. (l96l): Magyarország kréta időszaki csigái, Ann. Inst.
